Polymer Clay Canes for Beginners

27 videos, step by step, beginner cane workshop beginner Cane Tutorial What people are saying about this tutorial. jennifer rose Just finished this first workshop on how to make canes, and I must say I learned so much. This is exactly what I have been looking for, someone who could explain cane making in a step by step that process that I could replicate. I watched the videos, went into my studio and began to create all of the canes Alice showed. I finally have results I can be proud of, and I say thank you so much for doing this workshop. My only question now is when do we get more workshops. If you are only going to take one online class let it be this workshop. Thank you Alice for your hard work, and your dedication to helping others learn the joys of polymer clay.

Bangles – Just for Fun!

Bangles

Bangles

I’ve been working on the finishing touches to ornaments going to The Creative Native Gallery in Tampa and while they were in the oven I needed to make a birthday present for a friend. I have already given her dozens of girlfriend things, vases, ornaments, salt and pepper, etc…..so I decided to make some fun bangle bracelets. Here are three and there are two more in the oven.

Ornaments are finished, packed and ready to be delivered, the weather is beautiful, dog and cat are asleep on the porch and I have another hour before I have to make dinner. All is right with the world.

Thanks Christi, It’s always my pleasure and I just hope it’s something they will enjoy!

  • Hi Alice,
Love the bangles you made for your girlfriend…she is lucky to have you as a friend! Checked the Creative Native Gallery…that looks like an awesome gallery and items are all unique and fun!

Hi Lupe, thanks, yes The Creative Native Gallery has lots of wonderful artists that create some fabulous pieces. And Pam the owner is a ceramic artist and she makes the coolest fish and animals along with many other things.

Love all your new designs, especially the rock paper weights. What a great idea.
Looks as if your bangles are just made out of PC snakes and decorated. Is that what your did? If so I am going to try that, they are so whimsical.

    He Pat
Waving and smiling at you. Thanks, I’ve ben having fun, that’s for sure. Yep, snakes..but use premo or something as strong. Let me see what you do.

You could also use Bake & Bend, couldn’t you? I’ve only ever seen that in red, white and blue, though.. lol

  • Susan

Wow, Beautiful work you always do. You have sure given me some great ideas for gifts. Keep up the good work and most of all THANK-YOU SO MUCH! For sharing your talents like you do. It sure does mean a lot to folks like me who are still taking “Baby Steps” LOL.

I’ve never used bake and bend. I looked for something like that for these but as you say the selection just wasn’t there. Not in color or how the clay came packaged. You just can force these on your hand and you have to bake them at the correct temp.

You’re so welcome, I love to share. But my steps may not be baby step in what I’ve already been doing for years,(teenage maybe) but there are so many other things with clay I haven’t even tried, so I’m still learning too, believe me. thanks for saying hi.

  • Those bracelets are really nice. I agree that your girlfriend is lucky to have you as a friend.

  • Alice

ahhh thanks Lynn, but I’m lucky to have friends that want my work.
