Polymer Clay Canes for Beginners27 videos, step by step, beginner cane workshop
What people are saying about this tutorial.
jennifer rose
Just finished this first workshop on how to make canes, and I must say I learned so much. This is exactly what I have been looking for, someone who could explain cane making in a step by step that process that I could replicate. I watched the videos, went into my studio and began to create all of the canes Alice showed. I finally have results I can be proud of, and I say thank you so much for doing this workshop. My only question now is when do we get more workshops. If you are only going to take one online class let it be this workshop. Thank you Alice for your hard work, and your dedication to helping others learn the joys of polymer clay.

Love the video….
Thank you
So glad and you are welcome. Send me a picture if you make something like it!
Great video, You work beautifuly!
Love your tutorial. Your instructions are very helpful. They seem easy to follow. I am real excited to give it a try. The fish are a good starting point.
Please keep making videos. I prefer projects, but even when they are about organizing canes, I get inspired. Now I see why it helps to organize your canes. When you need a few for a project, you will be ready.
Thank you for sharing.
Thank you Ruth
Mary Lynne, I know…Just seeing someone else actually doing something makes me want drop everything and just clay. I’ll be trying some project in the future maybe. Thanks
I feel so stupid.I keep reading about the video and want so bad to see it and keep clicking fish pictue, titles etc but haven’t hit the right thing yet. HELP!
Don’t worry, all you have to do is fill in your name and your email address in the boxes above the fish picture on the upper right hand side of the page. It’s free. Alice
I loved the video. Hope to see others soon!!

Thank you Stephanie, I’ll have more soon.
Alice, I need a good source for clip art like the fish. have any ideas ??? Not even sure what to call it when I do a search since clip art is such a broad term.
thanks !!
Hey Kim, I have a hugh clip art collection that I purchased years ago and very rarely need to use the internet. But I just typed in fish free clip art and got several promising links on the first page. Just be sure you include free with your search.
Another source is coloring books. Check out the dollar tree or dollar store nearest you or if you have kids or grand kids, flip through their coloring books. I have three big loose leaf binders full of images from magazines that I have clipped and saved. You can always have them reduced at your local copy shop. But, trust your self and draw something. It doesn’t have to be exact. After all, these are fantasy works of art…..
Your fish mosaic tutorial just knocked my socks off. You explained it and demonstrated it so well that it actually inspired me to think I can, just maybe, try a mosaic like that. (But I am new to polymer clay and canes, so I won’t be holding my breath, that’s for sure. I’ll just jump in and try it, all the while breathing. That way, if I’ve bit off more than I can chew…well, you know.)
Seriously, thank you so much for your generousity.
Cheryl, you made my day. I’m so glad you enjoyed it and that maybe it has inspired you to learn more about clay. Did you watch the new video about canes? More to come. Thanks for taking the time to let me know you liked it. Alice
email me when you give it a try.. alice@polymerclayetc.com
Yes, you have inspired me! Between you and “Aunty”, I really feel ready to kick some Clay butt!
Oh, yes, I watched the cane video first. That was the one I had come on the site to watch. Then, after watching that, I saw the fish mosaic video was available, so I watched that one, too. And it was only because I had, indeed, watched the cane video first that I understood the “cane” principles you were applying when you created your mosaic.
So, thank you once again, Alice! Look out Clay…here I come!
Yeah, can’t wait to see what you do………
It might not be tomorrow or the next day – LOL – but I will share! I promise!

Hi Sue, the only thing I. an suggest is what has worked for others. Try downloading the newest version of Quicktime player or maybe switch your browser. Hope one of these two things work for you. Thanks…..
