Just finished this first workshop on how to make canes, and I must say I learned so much. This is exactly what I have been looking for, someone who could explain cane making in a step by step that process that I could replicate. I watched the videos, went into my studio and began to create all of the canes Alice showed. I finally have results I can be proud of, and I say thank you so much for doing this workshop. My only question now is when do we get more workshops. If you are only going to take one online class let it be this workshop. Thank you Alice for your hard work, and your dedication to helping others learn the joys of polymer clay.  Member IPCA |
 Autumn Girl I’ve listed several items in my Etsy Shop, getting ready for Christmas Shoppers. These two bracelets were made entirely from polymer clay. The great thing about Premo clay is that the bracelet can be squeezed to allow it to slip on your wrist easier.  Mermaid  American Allie I was off on another mission today. Had visions of cat dancing in my head. Here’s just one that I’m listing on Etsy tomorrow, too tired tonight. I love mixing colors.  Bib Necklace - Polymer Clay New Items for sale in my Etsy Shop! I finished the bib necklace and made a bracelet to go with it. The colors were fun to create and I loved making the canes. I really enjoyed figuring out how to make the bib part too. I used the largest round pastry cutter from a set I purchased from a restaurant supply house in Tampa. Cut the bottom, then moved the cutter up and cut the inside curve. I think I’ll make a short video next week or if I have time this week, I’ll try to fit it in. I have to laugh at myself because a have suddenly gotten very busy, both with polymer, and personal. Maybe it’s just that the summer is over and things always seem to move faster then. Whatever it is, I’m not complaining, I’m having a great time.
I have to tell you that Friends on Facebook have been so complimentary about the bib necklace. It’s really great to get such feed back. I wish it were here…. but Facebook make it so easy and everyone is there. So it works well and it helps to get super encouragement from other clayers. Thanks guys. Well I’m off to get my clay conditioned for my Profile Face Cane class with Orlando Area Polymer Clay Guild. Can’t wait, they are so much fun.  Coco-Nut I love this one….I’m still laughing and almost hope it doesn’t sell in my Etsy Shop even though I’ve listed it there. Everytime I look at her I laugh. She has a palm tree….on her head………..I think I’m the one that’s coco nut. But I wouldn’t have it any other way. I have a great time every day.  Coco-Nut  Coco-Nut I’ve combined leaves from my Tropical Leaves Tutorial and my Profile Face Cane Tutorial plus my Hair Cane Video to create this bracelet. Fun.
I’ve been working on several things today. This is just one of the bracelets I’ve finished and I’m working on a cocktail shaker. Too Funny! This girl has a flamboyant hat as always and a checker board blouse that matches the lime green checker board bracelet I posted yesterday. Over on Facebook, I had so many people talk about loving the lime green color that I thought I’d share the recipe with you. I know that I am not the first one to print this, but to tell you the truth, I have no idea where I discovered it. I do think pairing the two colors is something I did on my own years ago. Lime Green Recipe 1 part Zinc Yellow 1/16 black Yep, that’s it! That’s all there is to it, and the second color is Zinc Yellow straight out of the package. When placed next to the lime green it looks like a light lime green. Easy, breezy. Go Green!

 Girlfriends Galore 3 Another bunch of girls going to my Etsy Shop. These bracelets have 7 girls in 7 different hats arranged around the length of the bracelet. So colorful and fun to wear. No problem matching whatever you decide to wear that day.  Colorful and Fun to Wear Still have to find time to finish the idea I have for my tropical leaves necklace and am working on profile face canes for a workshop I have coming up. I also have to plan a three week class for beginners. I’ll be demo-ing polymer clay at Highlands Art League on the 2nd Friday Gallery Walk in downtown Sebring. Sept. 10, 2010. It’s always a fun evening and I’ll be demo-ing in the visual arts center down by Lake Jackson. It’s a building I worked on as Director for the Art League so we could have classes there. It’s a wonderful space, if you’re anywhere near Sebring, come on over.
I’ve uploaded another girlfriend bracelet to my Etsy Shop. I’m trying very hard to get ahead of myself. I’m going to be teaching more this year and have to create more stock now.  Girlfriends Galore 2 I’m also trying a new background. I spend alot of time cutting out my items in Photoshop and am trying to find a way to cut down on that. I know the other looks better, but does this work too? Opinions, be honest. I’m so easily distracted. I needed something to go with an outfit and had some cut slices of canes from other projects that I didn’t use and put them together like my fish mosaic (sign up for my newsletter if you want to see how to) and made this bracelet. Baked it and wore it that night. I love that part of polymer clay, the instant gratification. |
