Polymer Clay Canes for Beginners

27 videos, step by step, beginner cane workshop beginner Cane Tutorial What people are saying about this tutorial. jennifer rose Just finished this first workshop on how to make canes, and I must say I learned so much. This is exactly what I have been looking for, someone who could explain cane making in a step by step that process that I could replicate. I watched the videos, went into my studio and began to create all of the canes Alice showed. I finally have results I can be proud of, and I say thank you so much for doing this workshop. My only question now is when do we get more workshops. If you are only going to take one online class let it be this workshop. Thank you Alice for your hard work, and your dedication to helping others learn the joys of polymer clay.

Margit Böhmer’s Beautiful Work – A Gift

Margit Böhmer

MargitB and I are Flickr friends and have been for a couple of years now. I love her bright cheerful colors and the unique construction of her pieces. I feel like we are sisters in our love of color and clay.

We were both in the Winter Inchie Swap with the Polymer Clay Italia and swap mistress Leila Bidler. Sadly we weren’t in the same groups so we decided to swap with each other.

When I opened my package from Margit, I found these fabulous earrings she made just for me. I am so excited to have these, they’re gorgeous I’ve always wanted a piece of her work.

Inchies Margit Böhmer

On top of that, I also received two inchies. The Santa Claus cane is made by Mary Webster from Oregon and the inchies are Margit’s, colorful as always! How lucky am I? What a happy Christmas present to me. Thank you Margit, you’re a doll.

Spend some time on Margit’s flickr page if you want to be inspired or just want to enjoy some truly exciting work.

For a Friend – A Butterfly

Butterfly PinThis butterfly is for a friend, in appreciation. I started by  making just the character in the middle and then decided to try some wing stamps by Barbara McGuire that I brought home from my visit to Woman Creative in GA. Well once I added the wings she got quite large.

I decided to place it in a frame so that she can hang it on the wall or wear it if she’s brave enough. (It’s big, really!) I hope she likes it.

Birthday Prize

My Birthday Gift

My Birthday Gift to You!

Friday is my birthday and I wanted to say a Big thank you to my newsletter subscribers with this small prize. A girlfriend Pin. Only one can win even though I wish I could send a girlfriend to everyone.

All you have to do is be a subscriber to my newsletter and simply leave a comment here on this post. You don’t have to wish me a happy birthday, thank you anyway for the thought, instead as a present to me tell me what you’re working on.

Or if you’re new to polymer clay, what you would most like to learn right now as you are trying to master this amazing product? Simple basic things, or more complicated techniques?

That’s it, that’s all you have to do and I’ll choose a winner on Saturday with a random number generator.

If you aren’t getting my newsletter now, it’s simply to sign up, it’s free and you get to watch a free 20 minute mosaic video. Just look to the right on this page and you’ll see the mosaic fish and there you are.

Thank you all for supporting me here at Polymer Clay Etc.

Ornaments Galore for Friends Galore!

I’ve been on a roll, covering these ornaments and creating these girlfriend ornaments. By using different skinner blends for backgrounds I’m not using traditional Christmas colors for a reason. I want these ornaments to be able to be viewed and displayed at other times of the year too.

We all have one of those ornament stands that will display one special ornament. Well why not add one of those to a polymer clay ornament that has a special message for the recipient. I did a google search and found them for 2.50 and up.

Order an ornament from my Etsy Shop (adding a couple by the end of the day today) or create one yourself. But get started, Christmas is just around the corner.
