Polymer Clay Canes for Beginners

27 videos, step by step, beginner cane workshop beginner Cane Tutorial What people are saying about this tutorial. jennifer rose Just finished this first workshop on how to make canes, and I must say I learned so much. This is exactly what I have been looking for, someone who could explain cane making in a step by step that process that I could replicate. I watched the videos, went into my studio and began to create all of the canes Alice showed. I finally have results I can be proud of, and I say thank you so much for doing this workshop. My only question now is when do we get more workshops. If you are only going to take one online class let it be this workshop. Thank you Alice for your hard work, and your dedication to helping others learn the joys of polymer clay.

Polymer Clay as Canvas for Pen and Ink “Story”

Cat and Mouse

Cat and Mouse

I love this black and white “story” bracelet, it makes me laugh.  This cat is NOT a happy kitty. It seems the mice are having way too much fun.

2nd Alice in Wonderland Bracelet Polymer Clay

Alice in Wonderland 2This is the second of two bracelets I made as samples for a client. She chose the first bracelet and so this one I’m going to keep for myself.

This is another bracelet made with the technique used in my new Pen and Ink tutorial. You can look to the upper left hand side of this page for a link to purchase it or click here.

Girlfriends Galore – Polymer Clay Face Cane Girlfriends Bracelets

If you’re looking for my OWOH giveaway it’s here

____________________________

I finished these Girlfriend Galore bracelets yesterday and popped them in to cure last night. Spent the morning taking pictures and cropping etc., loading two of them on my Etsy site and flickr, and now here. Yikes. It’s 2pm and I’d rather be claying……

But that’s the way it is and I guess I just need to get over it. But I am glad to be using backgrounds instead of cutting each item out in Photoshop. My printer has gotten a bit sad and I’ve just ordered a new laser printer. I’ve wanted one for years and could never justify the expense when I had a perfectly good inkjet sitting right here.

But to tell you the truth, this “free” printer really costs more to operate because of the ink. Anyway, I’m waiting for it now and I can’t wait to print all those background with the laser.

Anyway, back to the “girlfriends”. I’ve listed two of these bracelets in my Etsy shop. The wider one below……

and this smaller one…..

I made one of these to go to the auction at Orlando Area Polymer Clay Guild’s Fandango coming up in May. It’s a super fun event and if your thinking about going…..stop thinking….just go, you’ll love it. Beautiful place, beautiful weather, beautiful people. Check it out on their website here.

What are you working on? Thanks for stopping by today.

Two New Pen and Ink Bracelets

I just keep coming back to Alice and the poor flamingo from time to time over the years and here I am again. I really, really enjoyed this one. Fun, fun.

I loved the colors and drawing the skirt. My sister drew herself a set of paper dolls and clothes when I was just a little girl. They had lots of folds and shading and I just loved them. I thought they were the prettiest things in the world.

I always wanted to draw like her and of course my Dad. I  didn’t really ever try to draw until a couple of years ago. And because I didn’t get instant wonderful results, I would give up. Then I’d come back again and again until I feel like I would wear these, so maybe someone else will like them too.

I want to thank all those customers that have purchased one of my bracelets from my Etsy Shop, or told me you liked them, either here or on Facebook or Flickr. It encourages me to make more, not to mention makes me smile from ear to ear.

This is another of my “face bracelets” I had lots of fun with this one too. Okay what don’t I have fun doing???? Not much if it is with clay or creating of any kind.

Gotta have the lips, lol……………

And the colorful eye………Both of these bracelets are for sale in my Etsy Shop, thanks for taking the time to stop by.

Circle of Friends – Polymer Clay Face Bead Bracelet

I was making inchies for the International swap and fell in love with the little squares. After I finished all my valentine squares for the swap, I couldn’t wait to put some of my girls on the little squares and make some beads.  This bracelet is for sale in my Etsy Shop.

And naturally they have to be friends, a blonde………

Another blonde………

And one with black hair…….a twist on my girlfriends bracelets.

And how could I not include a set of big lips???

I used buna cord for stinging. I didn’t want to have to make four more focal beads or a bunch of little ones. It seem to have worked very well. I wore it around the studio all day yesterday and it was very comfortable.

Still working on pen and ink…more tomorrow.

Yay! Another Etsy Treasury

I’m thrilled to be included in another Etsy Treasury. This time Marsha from LunasLoot used my Lady in Blue as inspiration for this lovely treasury called, TaDa, “Lady in Blue”.

LunasLoot sells Supplies and Vintage Goodies Marsha has accumulated over the years, plus she’s been so kind to me  and has included many of my items in her treasuries.

Thanks Marsha.

Lady in Blue – Pen and Ink on a Polymer Clay Base

Lady in Blue

Lady in Blue

This is the first all pen and ink design bracelet. I still have a polymer clay base, but the entire woman is pen and ink. I’ve learned quite a bit messing around with the ink. What works and what to watch out for. I promised myself to write a tutorial this month. I had about three tutorials on my must do list and over Christmas I found a product that made me add another to my list.

Anyway, I’m back to being to excited about EVERYTHING, that I’m finding it hard to stick to one thing. But I’ll get over it and get busy here.

This lady is for sale in my Etsy Shop. Thanks again for coming by.

New Pen and Ink and Zentangle Cane Bracelet

Pen and Ink Zentangle

Pen and Ink Zentangle

I got sidetracked last night, I was working on the orange necklace from the day before and put the beads in the oven. I had to wait anyway and started working on some bracelets that were waiting for me to draw on them with ink.

I finished this one and one with chickens, yes chickens, go figure. Once I got started I just couldn’t stop. I’ve listed this one in my Etsy shop and will list the chickens soon.

I’ll show you the chickens tomorrow and by then I should be finish with the orange necklace.

A Bracelet to Match – Polymer Clay

I made this bracelet and another, to match the necklace in yesterday’s post. I wore them both last night and got quite a few compliments. but the necklace was really the star. It hangs in this wonderful large cluster and you can’t miss it.

I made the canes, baked, put together the necklace and two bracelets in one day and baked them and wore them that night. I LOVE that about polymer clay. The instant gratification.

You know the famous line, “oh this old thing” when someone compliments someone about what they are wearing? Well that’s what I feel like when they ask, “where did you get that?” and I say “Oh this, I made it today”

Play with clay, that’s what I say!

Pen and Ink Ladies on Polymer Clay

Pen and Ink Ladies

Pen and Ink Ladies

I’ve had this bracelet staring at me for months. It had plain white places waiting for drawings. I sold the one that was featured in a Etsy Treasury and decided I’d better get busy and finish this one. It’s for sale in my  Etsy Shop.

Here’s a post I did months ago featuring the process and where I think I got my inspiration, from my Dad of course.

Now I think I have about 4 ideas in my head and today I’m going to get one of them in motion, I just need to decide which one. The thing is, even if I make a decision, I don’t always end up where I thought I would. But that’s the exciting part even though it still leaves me with my original idea still undone. Ah, what a life.
