Polymer Clay Canes for Beginners

27 videos, step by step, beginner cane workshop beginner Cane Tutorial What people are saying about this tutorial. jennifer rose Just finished this first workshop on how to make canes, and I must say I learned so much. This is exactly what I have been looking for, someone who could explain cane making in a step by step that process that I could replicate. I watched the videos, went into my studio and began to create all of the canes Alice showed. I finally have results I can be proud of, and I say thank you so much for doing this workshop. My only question now is when do we get more workshops. If you are only going to take one online class let it be this workshop. Thank you Alice for your hard work, and your dedication to helping others learn the joys of polymer clay.

Zentangles, Black and White Cuffs, Etsy Treasury

Zentangle

Zentangle

This is a bracelet made from Zentangle canes I made several months ago. I don’t know why I haven’t made more in all this time, too busy making other things I guess. But a tutorial is on my list.  I’ve listed this one in my Etsy Shop.

ZentangleI’ve also listed black and white cuff  in the picture below in my Etsy shop. I don’t care how many bracelets I make like this, they still continue to sell well.

They’re fun and bold and really stand out with a pair of black jeans and a crisp white shirt, my favorite look still.

My Lady in Blue is in another Treasury…I’m so delighted everyone like her. Thanks again to Patricia Paquin from artistsloftpaquin1.

Italian Inchies, New Etsy Listing and Etsy Treasury

I got very focused for the last couple of days and have  really accomplished quite a bit. On Wednesday I couldn’t get online at all and spent the whole day on the phone with my carrier. Yuck….but I’m back here and ready to go.

I have two finished black and white bracelets, one Zentangle, and 7 black and white waiting for pen and ink. I’ve listed this bracelet in my shop and will list the other two tomorrow.

I’ve also just finished 20 inchies for a Valentines inchies swap with Polymer Clay Italia, the first Italian polymer clay guild. I can’t wait to get 20 inchies back from this group. Actually it’s an international swap with Leila Bidler from Polymer Clay Italia as the sway mistress.

There are swappers from Italy, USA, Germany, Serbia, UK, Switzerland, and the Netherlands, exciting! I can’t show you mine yet, but I will after everyone has theirs, next month sometime.

Plus, I’m in another Treasury. I can’t believe it and I’m thrilled.

This Treasury was currated by artbymar, Maria Soto Robbins, and she’s from South Florida, Miami to be exact. You can see here tropically influenced artwork in her Etsy shop. Thanks Maria

Lady in Blue – Pen and Ink on a Polymer Clay Base

Lady in Blue

Lady in Blue

This is the first all pen and ink design bracelet. I still have a polymer clay base, but the entire woman is pen and ink. I’ve learned quite a bit messing around with the ink. What works and what to watch out for. I promised myself to write a tutorial this month. I had about three tutorials on my must do list and over Christmas I found a product that made me add another to my list.

Anyway, I’m back to being to excited about EVERYTHING, that I’m finding it hard to stick to one thing. But I’ll get over it and get busy here.

This lady is for sale in my Etsy Shop. Thanks again for coming by.

Pen and Ink Meets Polymer Clay Again

Pen and ink and polymer clay

Pen and ink and polymer clay

Happy New Year everyone. I’m excited to be back to play…er..I mean work. I hope everyone had as wonderful a holiday as I did. I walked away from the clay table for a week or so and now I am back full force and ready to try new things.

I asked for and got, some really cool Figure Drawing books for Christmas and will be playing around with more Pen and Ink as well as polymer clay faces.

I am also beginning work on some other ideas that I had. My goal this month, forget the whole year, is to get a couple more of my most popular designs into tutorials. And to hit the road teaching, plus have more classes right here in my studio.

In the mean time I’m still producing my bracelets. Here’s the latest pen and ink.

I’m excited to begin my next project. Stay tuned.

Roosters in Pen and Ink – Polymer Clay Too

I must have lost my mind, I’m doing Roosters now, at least this one time.  This bracelet is one of two that I made the other day and they are both listed in my Etsy Shop.  This is the only rooster bracelet though.

I had fun I must say. But I truly don’t know where the rooster thing came from. I’ve been doing faces, lips and eyes, then Bam! chickens and rooster jump in my head.

Plus I still haven’t finished the necklace I started the other day. But I love that about what I’m doing, I get to do what and when I want. Can’t ask for more than that I guess.

I don’t now about where you are, but I know it’s getting colder here. Needs a hot beverage asap.

New Pen and Ink and Zentangle Cane Bracelet

Pen and Ink Zentangle

Pen and Ink Zentangle

I got sidetracked last night, I was working on the orange necklace from the day before and put the beads in the oven. I had to wait anyway and started working on some bracelets that were waiting for me to draw on them with ink.

I finished this one and one with chickens, yes chickens, go figure. Once I got started I just couldn’t stop. I’ve listed this one in my Etsy shop and will list the chickens soon.

I’ll show you the chickens tomorrow and by then I should be finish with the orange necklace.

A Bracelet to Match – Polymer Clay

I made this bracelet and another, to match the necklace in yesterday’s post. I wore them both last night and got quite a few compliments. but the necklace was really the star. It hangs in this wonderful large cluster and you can’t miss it.

I made the canes, baked, put together the necklace and two bracelets in one day and baked them and wore them that night. I LOVE that about polymer clay. The instant gratification.

You know the famous line, “oh this old thing” when someone compliments someone about what they are wearing? Well that’s what I feel like when they ask, “where did you get that?” and I say “Oh this, I made it today”

Play with clay, that’s what I say!

Tons of New Listings Mean Great Gifts for Christmas

It was a busy day yesterday as I uploaded item after item to my Etsy Shop.  This Flame Necklace is an interesting piece with large unusual beads.

It will prove to be the same tomorrow I believe.  Most of the items I’ve made in the last few months and just haven’t taken the time to do all the legwork needed to get them ready for Etsy.

Another crazy girlfriend bracelet. She’s a single lady.

This is one bracelet in a series of 13. I really want to make more of these interesting face canes. Maybe after Christmas.

Pen and Ink – Lips and Eye – Oh My

Pen and Ink

Pen and Ink

I sold the last pen and ink bracelet that I listed in my Etsy Shop in less than 24 hours, I was thrilled. I’ve made a few more with white blank spaces and this is the first I’ve drawn on today. The rest are just sitting there waiting for me to pick up the pen again.

Lips

Lips

This one is a bit different. It has the face in the front, lips on one side and an eye on the other.

Eye

Eye

I also made some business card holders like this. They both have lips only drawn in pen and ink. I’m having quite a bit of fun with these.

Pen and Ink Ladies on Polymer Clay

Pen and Ink Ladies

Pen and Ink Ladies

I’ve had this bracelet staring at me for months. It had plain white places waiting for drawings. I sold the one that was featured in a Etsy Treasury and decided I’d better get busy and finish this one. It’s for sale in my  Etsy Shop.

Here’s a post I did months ago featuring the process and where I think I got my inspiration, from my Dad of course.

Now I think I have about 4 ideas in my head and today I’m going to get one of them in motion, I just need to decide which one. The thing is, even if I make a decision, I don’t always end up where I thought I would. But that’s the exciting part even though it still leaves me with my original idea still undone. Ah, what a life.
